Understanding the diagnosis
They may arise around the orbit, cavernous sinus, clinoid process, olfactory groove, petrous bone or petroclival region. Each location has distinct anatomical relationships.
Many meningiomas grow slowly, so they do not all require immediate intervention. Changes on serial imaging and symptoms guide the timing and type of treatment.

Possible manifestations
- Visual disturbance or double vision
- Hearing loss or balance problems
- Changes in the sense of smell
- Altered facial sensation
- Headache, seizures or other neurological deficits
